There was always that tale
Of a wish that would never fail

All you had to do was wish upon a star
As it burned at a distance oh so far

But a wish can be naught by a whim
To which welcomes sorrow to brim

A wish can prelude the end
A day which no prayer can mend

Yet still there is a tale
Of a wish that would never fail

Even when the wisher longs to recant
The star will still silently grant

The story is told without any heed
For there are always those misguidedly in need

An innocent light so bright in the sky
Can still bring about a tearful goodbye

And so there will always be a tale
Of a wish that will never fail
This is an entry in :iconsapph1repo3t:'s contest. :la: The prompt was "create a legend, myth, or fairytale about falling stars." It was quite an interesting idea, I decided to go with the myth approach since they tend to have the theme of a double edged sword.

It was quite an interesting prompt. :la:

More information on the contest can be found here: [link]

I tried to be creative with the formatting as well. XD
