Literature Text

Whenever the rains pours down,
I know somebody is crying;
I know that my raven is crying
When ever I see my reflection in a puddle of water...
I see myself, with black chained wings

I've always wanted to escape and fly
See the world below me, with a viewpoint from the skies
I always said that my wings were chained
They bound me tightly to a painful past and present
And kept a pure future just out of reach

Even though I can't help but wonder why;
Whenever the rain start to fall
I see my reflection as what I am
And what used to be
I'm not even the person I once called "me"

Understanding is beyond these chains
Answers to questions that have tormented me since I was small
No matter what color they are,
No matter what kind of heart they reflect,
I'm still bound, my wings now tainted

The rain shows me the reflection
That I know is me
The me under these masks,
Too many faces,
Too many alternate realities,
The face that stares back with sad eyes is still “me”
But then black feathers flutter down and ruin the image

Bound my chains,
I wait in the darkness…
Waiting to gain the power to break the chains
Even if it's with black wings
Surprisingly, I wrote this long before I ever got my hands on something Final Fantasy VII relevant. The original copyright on this one...is 4/10/06. XD

Yes, I truly am the Permafrost Poetess.

I also feel I was a little too big on word repeatition in this poem, but this was just my first year formally writing poetry...

Anyway, though the title may have gotten your hopes up for something Genesis Rhapsodos related, no disclaimer shall be found here because this poem is (c) to me.

Wow... Really this is so Genesis. And you say you wrote this before you got ahold of FFVIICC, very interesting.
